The Gate Is Open. The Sheep Are Out. The Crows Are Watching.

A weathered stone manor house sits behind an iron gate as autumn burns orange and amber through the surrounding trees. Three white sheep graze the front yard with the calm entitlement of animals who have been here longer than the fence. Two crows observe from the bare upper branches. The sky is pale. The leaves are at their peak. Painted in a rich, layered folk-realist oil style with the warm gravitas of American colonial landscape painting, this piece has the visual weight and storytelling depth of a canvas that belongs in a library — or above a fireplace — or anywhere a room needs to feel like it has history.
