She Is Not Receiving Visitors. She Is Receiving This Drink.

A witch in a wide-brimmed hat sits in a deep armchair, one hand on the stem of a martini glass, the candlelight doing exactly what it is told. The painting has the composition and darkness of an old master portrait and the complete absence of any obligation to explain itself. She has been sitting there for some time. She intends to continue.

Why You'll Love It

• Old master portrait, entirely on her terms — the lighting, the shadow, the formal seated posture; all the elements of a serious commission, given to a subject who finds the whole thing faintly amusing and has a martini about it
• Deep umber, warm gold, absolute black — a palette of complete authority; it works in any room that prefers atmosphere to brightness and understands the difference between the two
• The hat is non-negotiable — wide-brimmed, perfectly placed, doing exactly the structural work a hat of that size should do in a portrait of this kind; remove it and the whole painting changes; it stays
• HD archival printing on artist-grade canvas — vivid, fade-resistant clarity on every print
• Natural wood frame available — ready to hang out of the box
• Made & shipped in the USA — printed on demand, crafted with care
• 9 sizes available — from 8x12" accent to 34x51" statement piece

Perfect For

• Living rooms, studies, and reading corners that want a portrait with genuine presence and the dry authority of someone who has earned the right to sit exactly like that
• A gift for the woman who has a favorite chair, a preferred drink, and no interest in being interrupted while she is in either

"She had not moved in some time. The drink was good. The chair was correct. There was nothing further required of the evening." 🏡 Turn your empty wall into a story — shop now 💫
