They See You. They Have Always Seen You.

Two large ostriches and two smaller ones stand pressed together, all four pairs of enormous round eyes locked directly onto whoever is looking at them. There is no looking away. There is no pretending you didn’t make eye contact. They have decided you are interesting, and they will continue to stare until further notice. Rendered in a bold, gestural expressionist oil style on a warm cream and taupe background — loose, energetic brushwork, deep charcoal and ivory tones, and the kind of raw painterly texture that makes this feel like it came straight off an easel — this piece is funny, striking, and genuinely impossible to ignore.
