He Sat for This Portrait. He Took It Seriously. You Should Too.

There is a dog who knows he is being painted and has decided to behave accordingly. Upright, ears down, gaze level, legs arranged with the kind of dignity that is very difficult to achieve and almost impossible to maintain. The background is warm amber and aged gold, the light is the light of a sitting room that has seen better days and prefers it that way. He is not performing. He simply understands the occasion.

Why You'll Love It

• Classical portrait energy, completely committed — the composition, the palette, and the lighting are all doing the work of a 18th-century commission; the subject just happens to be a beagle who has taken this extremely seriously
• Warm amber and umber — the specific golden brown of old varnish and good oil paint; a palette that makes any wall feel like it belongs to a room with a fireplace and a point of view
• The expression is everything — patient, solemn, faintly aware that this is a lot of effort for a dog but willing to see it through regardless; anyone who has ever tried to photograph their dog for more than thirty seconds will recognize this immediately
• HD archival printing on artist-grade canvas — vivid, fade-resistant clarity on every print
• Natural wood frame available — ready to hang out of the box
• Made & shipped in the USA — printed on demand, crafted with care
• 9 sizes available — from 8x12" accent to 34x51" statement piece

Perfect For

• Living rooms, studies, and hallways that want a portrait with genuine gravitas and the quiet humor of a subject who earned it
• A gift for anyone with a beagle, a dog, or simply a fondness for paintings that take themselves exactly as seriously as they should
